embarrassing mom
When I dropped Ava off at school one morning (running a little late) she took off her boots and I slid her shoes on to keep her moving. As I slid on her shoe, I whispered, "The slipper fits, you must be Cinderella!" We do this all the time at home and she smiles and giggles and gives me a big hug. Well, when I did that at school, she hushed me and whispered, "Mom, you can't say that at school, only at home." ...I have now earned the title of "The Embarrassing Mom."

Zoe's Birthday Party

The cake. Yes, I even made it myself :)

The pinata was a big hit! Not literally though...now they make pinatas that open with the pull of a string. One secret ribbon opens the trap door...and then...candy, candy, CANDY!!! Which was the theme of the party because it is one of Zoe's true loves.
After every one left the party, Zoe couldn't stop singing "Happy Birthday" to herself. I remember Ava did the same after her 2nd birthday too. :) I love how she walks away shaking her head at me at the end of the video. ;)

Scooter
Zoe turned 2 on January 6th and she got a scooter. Check out the video...she loves to get rides! I'm sure it won't be long before she's zooming around on her own. We planned to go to Bounce Depot for her birthday only to discover they aren't open on Wednesdays...we still went out to eat at Noodles (Zoe's favorite) and went to the mall for some DQ ice cream. Zoe ended up with a fever during the night which lasted a few days so we had to reschedule the party to this Saturday. Ava was more bummed about it than anyone, but she is pumped that the new date is just around the corner! (Actually, she suggested we get a babysitter for Zoe so she wouldn't get everyone at the party sick!...She just couldn't quite grasp why we wouldn't have the party without Zoe there! LOL) We are so excited for tomorrow!

Pop......pop...pop-pop-pop-pop!
The Beauty Shop is now open
Ava has been using her new princess beauty styling kit equipped with play straightener, curling iron, brush, etc. to fix Zoe's hair. Zoe sits as patient as can be while gettin' prettied up, the rest of the time, she's sneaking the play lipstick. I think that may be her favorite new toy...pretend lipstick. Ava's is probably her Polly Pockets, complete with microscopic silicone shoes...she is getting better at dressing them though...otherwise that's my job :)
